Catering
At Elm House we recognize that the importance of great food to the health and happiness of our residents can never be underestimated, and that mealtimes should be something to look forward to and enjoyed. We proudly use the best locally sourced fresh ingredients cooked by great chefs to ensure that every meal is sensational.
Because of our location in the agricultural heart of rural West Lancashire we are lucky to be surrounded by the finest organic farmers in the north of England which means all of our meals contain locally grown and reared fresh produce. Of course there’s no point in having the best ingredients if they aren’t cooked by the best trained chefs, so we work with experienced staff that are able to provide a varied and fantastic menu boasting the finest traditional cuisine, or if you prefer, something a bit different!
The Elm House catering team work in our brand new modern kitchens and can cater for all individual dietary requirements and tastes, whilst focusing on enjoyable, nutritional meals that make dining an experience rather than a routine! We pride ourselves on hosting regular theme days such as St. Patrick’s Day, Valentine’s Day, Easter and Bank Holidays, and when our residents have a celebration such as a birthday or anniversary we make sure they are treated to a special meal to mark the occasion. Bedrooms
The private rooms at Elm House are a reflection of our focus on privacy and personality. Every bedroom provides our residents with privacy, comfort and relaxation.
Relaxing in your private room at Elm House, you can enjoy beautiful views of our gardens and the surrounding area in your own peaceful haven. Rather than being just a “home from home”, we regard your room at Elm House as being an important part of your life and ensure it is decorated to the highest standard with all the facilities and amenities you could wish for. With free Wi-Fi you can speak to anyone anywhere in the world, and every room has a large wheelchair accessible en-suite wet room with plenty of space for your personal needs. Rather than being mass-produced, our furniture is sourced from local craftspeople to reflect the unique character of our residents, but ultimately we want your room to be all about you and encourage all residents to personalise their accommodation with their own favourite furniture, pictures and belongings.
For your safety and peace of mind you will have 24 hour access to our care staff, we can organise your meals to be eaten in your room and you can look forward to being waited on hand and foot whenever you need anything!

Activities
Nestled in the heart of West Lancashire, Elm House has some lovely places to visit right on our doorstep and our activities co-ordinator carefully plans enjoyable trips throughout the year for our residents. This thriving activity programme provides transport, meals and, if required, accompaniment to some of the many attractions in the area including: the wonderful resorts of Blackpool and Southport and the charming market town of Ormskirk. Only slightly further afield is the natural beauty of North Wales, the Lake District and the Peak District. Our activities coordinator works closely with all the residents to provide a wonderful array of day trips for residents throughout the year.
There are also weekly excursions to some of the best cafes, farm shops and restaurants in the area, and if there is a specific place that a resident has a passion for, we will work with them to organise a trip down memory lane.
Within the home itself there is never a dull moment! We have activities every day ranging from board games, film shows, live entertainment and magic shows! Elm House boasts its own library and games room and we actively encourage all residents to make the most of their favourite pastimes and hobbies with facilities for dancing, painting and sports. Whenever a resident has a landmark event they wish to celebrate we make sure they have a memorable party with friends and family all invited.
